I'm trying to send an image to a newspaper that requires min 300dpi - I sent an image as an attachement but it is HUGE:)) Do I have to resize it like I do for the challenges here? |

hmmm...
If I were you I would just change the image size down to something like 8x10 or so. What would be best is if they had an FTP transfer site you could upload to.
Any other suggestions out there? |

In PS Go to Image then Image Size make sure resample image box is not checked and change resolution to 300 pixels/inch. It will be a big attachment but that is standard procedure for sending images to news papers. Don't ask me why it just is!!!!!!!! Do this to original file if you can.

I never understood why newspapers need such high resoultion when their printing quality is usually so poor!

I would send the original size (3000px ish across), which should be under 3 MB?
Resolution is notional anyway, and completely depends on the print size.

The newspaper usually asked for that size cause they generally don't know what they really need, they just know that 300 is good for somebody. I just wish they would occasionally use their spell check options. |
