Hi guys,
I remember a thread from ages ago where someone posted a contact sheet template... does anyone here have a template I could use? It needs to be fairly high res so I can print A4 or above. It needs to look like a proper 35mm contact sheet, rather than the rows of photos Photoshop churns out. If it looks a bit battered, so much the better!
Many thanks,
Bob

It sounds as though you are looking for "clip art" of the 35mm film strips, into which you can drop your images ... if you can't find the sheet, maybe you can find a strip or single frame and assemble the sheet yourself -- then you can put a strip crooked for that "homemade" look if you want.

Unless your camera shoots in 3:2 (and you set it like that), you'll have to crop all the images to fit a "satndard" 35mm contact print.

GeneralE, you're spot on, that's exactly what I want. I was wondering if someone already had a template handy... I'm sure people have posted them here before.

I can't remember how to use the Google-search function restricted to DPC, but you might try that ... the in-house search seems useless to me right now.

If you have some film, I'd just scan it or photo it and make up a template ... you can use a flatbed scanner (not transparency) since all you need is the silhouette of the frames, not the images.

No point reinventing the wheel if someone already has one out there, but yes I will do this if nobody responds. A ready made template would be much appreciated though! Otherwise I'll have to drag my scanner out of the attic which I haven't used in years. I've already tried searching the forums.

Here is a PS action web site with a film strip. Not sure if this is what you are looking for or not. HTH

That's almost what I'm after, but I need the negative strips to look a bit more realistic. Thanks though :-)

No, the Photoshop contact sheet doesn't look like a proper 35mm contact sheet.

This is a big issue. The 1:1.5 format of moust images gives us a lot of homework to crop it to 1:1.33 aspect rate. What I do is that I print contact proofs in 10x15cm, witch I offer all to the grooms (a commercial issue to present, for a item that you will no longer need), and then crop it to the right size with time at home. But is more expensive to print all of the contact proofs this way than in contact sheets.

Bump... I have a good looking contact sheet from some b&w stuff I worked on in the darkroom, but I have no idea where my scanner is. Anyone have a template?

Well, I just posted (some really bad) contact sheets that I processed in my home Darkroom. If you want to copy / paste the framing lines from there, you are more then welcome to it. They are pretty high resolution (600 dpi).

There are two different films, Ilford Delta 100 and Kodak TMax 400.

That's so kind of you... I've found my scanner now though, and have painstakingly made a template by deleting the area that each frame takes. Otherwise they were exactly what I was after.
