I am currently checking the mail daily waiting on my new Rebel XT to arrive and was wondering what the thoughts were of those who have upgraded from a Rebel 300D to the XT.

If I upgrade I would go to the 20D, I saw the XT in a store and didn't like it, it felt too lite and too small.

If I upgraded, it would be the 20d...or whatever replaces the 20d. But for now...my 300d does EVERYTHING I'd need it to. Unless I have some serious glass, I'm sticking with my 300d. Otherwise, there's no point.

As I stated in my Bio...My fellow co-worker and friend is who has gotten me into all of this and he is the owner of the 20D. We usually shoot together and one of my entries was taken while using his camera. I wish I could steal it from him though. That is pretty much why I upgraded in the first place because of what I could do on his vs. what I could not on the 300D. The XT seemed to offer a few of the things the 300D was missing and at a lower cost. I really think that I am just postponing the inevitable and probably should have just forked over the cash for the 20D. Hence this thread...

Like you, I upgraded from the 300D to the 350D, and I have access to a 20D. To me, the only real downside to the 350D is the too-small hand grip. You'll enjoy the instant-on, lower noise, faster frame rate, higher resolution, and tons of new settings that were disabled or missing on the 300D. The 20D offers a still faster frame rate and autofocus, even lower noise, easier access to controls, a FAR more comfortable grip and other goodies.

If you were basically OK with the capabilities of the 300D, you'll love the new stuff on the 350D.

thanks...I appreciate somebody replying that actually has had both of the cameras and offers some useful advice. I ordered the battery grip to hopefully take care of the grip size.
