Since I currently can't search the Forums (temporarily disabled error message):
Has anyone here use the Wacom Intuos3?
If so what size, and how do you like it?

I have 2 6x8s and one Graphire3. They rock!

Koltrane75,
I got the Intuos3 4x5 about 3 or 4 months ago. I would HIGHLY recommend it. Wonderfully responsive and accurate. The buttons on the tablet, and the pressure sensitivity are great. It has let me do things easily that I would not even attempt with a mouse.
Some people recommended at least the 6x8 size, saying the 4x5 was too small. However, I have never felt limited by the 4x5. Actually, I think that if I had to move my hand much more than the 4x5 to go from one side of the screen to the other, that I would like the tablet LESS. Too much hand movement would get tiring. So to me, the 6x8 might be too big. If you know what I mean... Hard to explain until you actually use one.
Hope this helps.
Doug

I have the 6x8 and find it is a really great size. I was talking with the Wacom people at a photo expo last month, when I was looking at buying one, and they recommended that size for photo work.
Their advice was genuine, as I was trying to decide what size I would buy and they steered me away from the larger size, saying that is not as good for photos but better for design work (rather than simply trying to sell me the most expensive model).
I have replaced my old tablet, a generic brand, and this is head and shoulders above that. Not sure how it compares to the Intuous 2 models though, but I can;t fault this one :)

I have a 9X12 - great for detail work - but I find it kinda big - you do have to move at almost a 1:1 scale as the screen - But I like it... |

Well I coughed up the $300 for the 6x8...
And it was well worth it!!!!
This thing is awesome!
It is already difficult to imagine going back to just a mouse.
It comes with a variety of pen tips, one of which feels like a felt tip.
This is my favorite.
I have never felt so much control in Photoshop or Paintshop Pro.
Get one if you can afford it!!!!!!!! |

And don't be tempted to go for the cheaper brands (e.g. Tiny). Mine is a complete waste of time!! |
