I was viewing my history in Dpc. Since, I registered in May 2003 I got a middle average (5.49), with 37 pics selected as favourite. But, my higher placed pic and the second higher score pic has no selection as a favourite.
That´s curious, at least in my opinion. |

In fact, in the top 12, it´s the only one with no selection! Interesting.

Images can score well within the topic of the challenge but still not be considered something that people would fav. Although I dont see anything wrong with your picture. Hrm, it's been so long but I think back in 2003 you couldnt add a favorite from the voting page so it may have been people forgot to go back and mark it as a fav.

It is kind of odd, 2 out of my LOWEST 5 scoring photos have been selected as favorites. I'm not complaining at all, but it just goes to show that not everyone sees things the same. ~Heather~

Same thing here. My highest scoring entry has not been fav'ed but a couple of pretty low scoring ones, entries I would like to forget, have been selected af favs. Maybe it's not such an uncommon pattern.
Also in my portfolio there's at least one that I planned on deleting but someone has fav'ed it so it lives.

of all my pictures in my portfolio only 2 have been selected as favorites, one has 11 favorites and the other only 1.
both these pictures did not enter a challenge, my challenge entries has not been selected as favorites :( |

I plotted all my entries using final score vs. comments, views and favorites. I found that the relationship is strongly non-linear, but when converted to a log scale for the dependent variable they are quite linear. There are a lot of missing data points for the "favorites" plot, because "zero" values can't be plotted on a log graph (they come out at minus infinity, LOL).
what this really says is that the "action" that a photo receives increases more rapidly as the score increases.

Fortunately, we´re lots of people in the community, and we have different point of view about the same pic, that´s one of the most important things in DPC!!!! |
