Okay...I'm stumped! I had pictures in my portfolio and the WERE selected to be showed on my profile page. I deleated them and added new photos but my profile page acts like they are still there. When I go to add or remove photos on my preferences page there are none selected. How do I get rid of the six photos that seem to still be selected even though they are not on my preference page??? |

were they contest submissions? Or just regular image posts?

After making the changes, did you hit save at the bottom of the page?
Or are you having problems like what I described here: FF profile page sort issues |

They are just portfolio pics I uploaded no challenge entries. I deleated the ones I uploaded yesterday because I did'nt change the image size correctly before uploading. So I deleted them and uploaded pretty much the same pics only with image dimensions saved correctly. I did not hit save at any time because I was in my portfolio page. After deleating and re uploading the pics in my portfolio I went to my preferences to choose which ones to display but it only lets me add 4 because I had previously had 6 picked.

Try going to your My Preferences page and re-doing your selections, and then hit save.

When I try redoing my selections it will only let me select 4 (previously I had 6 selected) and if I select those 4 they still are not shown, only empty boxes of the 6 ones I deleted. The only way I can get any to show is by checking...show most recently uploaded files... |

I have this same problem. I deleted some of the pictures and re-uploaded new files and have this same bug. I even tried to turn off that option then re-enable it but the blank spaces are still there.
I don't know if it looks like this to others who look at it, but to me it looks like this:

Could it be a caching issue? Or maybe you need to logout and login again.

I dont think so. I've cleared cache, logged out and in, restarted my computer, none of which fixes it. I think its just a piece of the script which is still looking for the pictures, but since the pictures arent there it doesn't give the option to delete them. Until it's fixed I'm just going to set it to show my recent additions.

This is typically associated with ad blocking software or firewall issues. See if this helps:

The missing thumbs are only in our portfolios and will not load even if we click on them because the image has been deleted. It's like it thinks the images are still there and displays a blank thumb. |

I don't know if this will help, but I've noticed that when I've changed my portfolio picture sometimes the old one sticks around. When this happens I hit F5 and it refreshes with the new picture. Don't know if that will work for the portfolio pictures but it's worth a try. Sorry I couldn't be more help.... I haven't had any problems with it so far but I've only changed out a couple of photos so far.

I don't think this is quite the same thing, or that this is really associated with any previous bug or problem yet since it is part of the new features that only went into affect about a week or so ago.
The problem is that we used the Preferences to set a group of 10 pictures that we want to show up when people see our portfolio. Then, later on, some problem is noticed with one or more of these photos. Say, five of them. I re-edit these five photos, and rather than upload over the photos already there (keeping the same IMAGEID) I batch upload these five files from a ZIP file, and delete the old ones (getting them each a new IMAGEID).
The problem is then, after I delete the old files, the place in the preferences (under "Selected Portfolio Images) no longer knows what to display, so it display's nothing. However, the portfolio is still looking for those IMAGEID's (which no longer exist) but becasue they were not and can no longer be deleted from the "Selected Portfolio Images" there is a sort of catch 22.
It seems to me that there just needs to be some provision put into the code of this feature which would allow for deleted images to show up as NULL or something on the "Selected Portfolio Images" so they can be deleted (or something to that affect). But I'm not sure who to contact for this problem.

I think you could use the contact link under help to let the site admins know of the issue. It's probably just something that slipped through the cracks when the new feature was developed. |
