Hats off to you guys who can take an uncluttered butterfly shot. These were difficult!

I try to prefocus on the flower, stopping down for max DOF and wait for the butterfly. Otherwise they become very timid when stalked. Below is an interesting butterfly .... the only one I've ever seen with transparent wings!

yes its very hard they won't stay still very often!

Elsapo: I know they say Jacko is the king of macro around these parts but the work you've done is simply amazing! Just had to say something after viewing some of your work. I've been thinking of getting a macro lens and now I really want one :-D

thank you, thats a HUGE compliment :)... the sigma 105mm is an awesome lens which also helps ;)

that's awesome. I got a few of a wasp today while I was out shooting...but they absolutely turned out like crap.
