I was considering purchasing this lens for my Nikon D70, I have a friend who has one and I have looked at it but not able to take any shots with it. What are the pro's/con's of this lens? Thanks!

Do you mean this lens?

This site rates it at 4.09 (on a 5.0 scale). That is very very good.
Sigma AF 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX (HSM) is 4.16 and Tamron AF 70-210mm f/2.8 SP LD is 4.28. Close enough to all be the same as the score move as new reviews are added. I hear tgood things about tokina, but my last couple of lenses have been sigmas and i like the look of the pics i get on my rebel better with them (color and contrast). The Sigma HSM is listed as having a faster focus than the other two, other than that they are very similar.

Thanks for the info Prof Fate, I really like that lens. I havent really looked at Sigma but from the pictures on this website, it looks like an impressive lens as well.
