Yikes!
No wonder I built up such good muscles using the Oly.
Shipping weight w/all accessories was 21 lbs.

Yer gonna go soft with the D-600L then. It was only 3lbs with the mousetrap. ;-P

You should know by now that NO mousetrap has been effective (yet).

Hope you built a better one for everyone's sake.

I find your situation depressing.. I always felt that a person with such talent almost has a responsibility. I've admired so many of your photos and some one with your eye should have the best equipment available. there must be some middle ground for a compromise here. Hope you find it. Decent people like you are a rare commodity (I not sure I even fit that category...)And I anxiously await your return. I know your work and comments have kept me inspired.

Wow Dex,
I'm at a little loss for words here.

Actually this is very much the opposite of depressing. I may play it up with a sad face somewhere for the effect, but in this case, it is such the RIGHT thing to do, it is actually uplifting.

Material items have no comparison in importance when it comes to family, especially one's kids. In all actuality, a camera to me, is a luxury and a toy in a way - a want, not a need. There is also a very powerful message I am sending in all this and is something that may not really have an effect for years to come from the other parties involved.

In the mean time, I'm still here, as always (really - LOL) and am really looking forward to testing my own skills with a far lesser camera than I am used to. Sort of like an underdog kid buying a race car team's discard, then comes back head to head, competively with it.

Oh that and Joey has a red target painted on his back that I am taking aim on - LOL

Thanks again for the kind words.

Even on line I can sense a strong spirit of competition that very few have. I get the impression that this is more a time issue than a money one. good luck with your endeavors and I'm sure you'll achieve what you wish. You have a gift and I'm sure the camara won't make too much a difference. To have artists like yourself so available through this site is one of DPC's most under rated aspects.
