i did my first edit on a image on my new Apple G5
now when i saved it i noticed it was saved as a GIF and not JPG
when i tried to put this gif image inside a thread it didnt accept it
a red cross shows up instead of the image

another thing is the adjustment of the screen
there are a lot of choices available
is this just a matter of taste or is there a setting thats recommended??

anyone who can help me out in these matters i would very appreciate

You can link a gif inside a thread with the insert image function but the thumbnail feature doesn't recognize gifs.

I believe we can only post JPG files here. When you are in the Save screen, you should be able to pull down a menu that will allow you to save the photo as a JPG. If you're using File:Save, try File:SaveAs....gives you more options.

Are you talking about brightness/darkness of your screen? Or monitor colors?

both..i mean the brightness i guess thats a matter of taste or maybe even better to stick to the callibration according a tonescale
but the colours yes there are several choices like RGB and Imac(wich is very bright) and several others ..sometimes i dont notice a difference when i change it to a given setting
sofar i think that RGB setting looks most apropriete

I have mine set to millions of colors and Color LCD as my color option. I think it stands pretty true....but I think that your preference is important too. It's a good idea to have something that produces colors that are pretty true to life if you're looking at photos.
