I just bought a Canon EOS 350D. Is it the same as the Rebel XT?

Yes.

Thanks. I was wondering why it is labelled EOS-350D without the Rebel XT.

It's called EOS Rebel XT in America, EOS 350D everywhere else, don't ask me why...

I saw an ad on TV for the digital Rebel XT and could only assume it was teh 350D. I guess the name "XT" just sold better in the US and they're stickign with it so people don't get confused. I dunno.....why companies gotta mess with our heads in the first place.

You think that's bad, it is called the "Kiss n" in Japan. How do you think that would sell in USA? Just goes to show the different tastes in different cultures.

I have a Canon Digital Ivus V3 in the US its called the Powershot S 230 The UK web site charges for copies of the manual the US web site offers free down loads. Pricing is completely different, and accessories are branded differently.

This is all designed to tailor to the local market, and allow price differentiation.
(Much cheaper in North America)

So they're messing up the Powershot and the Ixus/Elph series now? Lol. I have a Powershot G2 and an Ixus400 and they are completely different!
