Other than wearing an ironed shirt, can anyone give me some constructive crit?

I couldn't resist.
You seem to have got the exposure right and the contrast is good however the crop is a bit tight on the top and the left.

I agree, why such a small crop? unless that's intentional...
I would also make it *little* more sharp so it jumps out.

You captured a nice calm expression...
my nit picks would be lighting around the right eye (left as we are looking at it) is a tad bit dark maybe the slightest of burn right on the eye to bring out the pupil a bit. Also there is a second catch light on that same eye that really stands out as it is not present on the other.

I don't have any experience with portraits such as this, my two cents would be perhaps a slight bump in contrast? Looks a bit flat. Also as awpollard points out - the second catch light on the eye is distracting.
