Hi Folks
I am really familiar with the File Browser in PS CS but am aware that it's been replaced by the Bridge in CS2 - pretty much the same tool but with a new name.
I know I now OWN a (legal) copy of CS2 but I haven't installed it yet as LizardTech are still working on a patch to allow Genuine Fractals to be used in CS2. As I use this plug in quite a bit at the moment, I'm waiting for that before I install CS2.
But... I have a client on CS2. Having shown him ranking on CS he has been unable to find it on CS2 and I'm wondering if they've renamed it or replaced it with something slightly different?
I have looked on Adobe's site but the information there is simply not indepth enough.
Can anyone advise?
THANKS!

Ranking is in the Bridge in CS2. I don't have CS2 at work so I can't remember exactly which menu but I believe it could be 'Label'. You rank photos with a number of stars, 1 - 5. Then you can filter based on these rankings.

You can both rate and label each shot. You either click on the image and hit CTRL 5 (for 5 star) or CTRL 4 and so on. Or you can simply click on the image and click on one of the five small dots located below the image and it will rate it appropriately. You can also label each image with a color to further sort. You can choose from red, yellow, green, blue and purple. You can color label by right clicking on the image. |

In the bridge its under the heading label you can then rank the photo and label it in color |

OK, what I liked in CS File Browser was being able to rank using my own words so I could make up categories, e.g. Crap, Poor, Maybe, Good, Excellent, Hero.
Rating in absolute order isn't something I'd particularly use.
With these colour labels can I assign word meanings to them or just have to remember myself what colours I'm using for what meaning?
THANKS SO MUCH!

Would still appreciate further clarification though on whether I can assign category names to the colour labels?
THANKS!

Yes you can! You cannot, however, change their colors, just the definitions of what each color is...
...Edit_Preferences_Labels
Now just type in new label beside each color. |

Awesome Papa thank you for finding that!!
You're limited to 5 different labels though

I can live with 5 though - it's a shame they have got rid of text ranking as I really liked being able to enter whatever rank labels I wanted to.
Thanks Papa for your help!
