Hi all,

I've just recently started playing with some of my images in PSE2. This image was pretty flat out of the camera and I think I've been able to tweek it a bit to make it better. I already know it could be a bit better but I wanted to get some advice from you all. I respect your work and comments so let 'em fly!

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. If anyone can tell me how to post a thumb image in this post I would appreciate it.

Thanks guys, that was easy!

Check this tutorial -- the short answer is use the top-rightmost button when you compose the post, and insert the photo's ID number only.

Also, this type of thread belongs in the Individual Photograph Discussion area, not the Critique Club -- I'll move it.

very nice work on your pix.

Whites and blacks seem even and right on, color seem ok, nice movement, nice lines, good macro, good lighting, nice out of focus dof, good comp.

Just add Godzilla and youv'e got it made.

Thanks GeneralE. Sorry for the inconvenience.

looks good... the only thing I might try different would be to convert to B/W... just for a variation... I like the original though!

The composition is fairly static and the background is distracting. It has some color so I'm assuming it's not a black and white image, although at first look it does seem like it is. Could try a duotone in PP, maybe something bluish to emphasize the cold of the ice. While out in the field you may want to carry around a small piece of colored felt that you can keep in your camera bag and then use that as a background in images where the background doesnt really add much. If you have a flash (not the popup in-camera one) then that could add some light and sparkle.
