On my screen they don't look too sharp. I like the second picture's composition better.

I sort of thought the same thing, artvet. I was also traveling in a boat at the time the shots were taken.

I think a bit faster shutter speed would have frozen the subject in a cleaner way. They appear a bit oversharpened in processing to me.

Nice captures. They are a bit soft on my monitor also. You might try about a minus 1.3 to 1.7 compensation when shooting white birds. Seems to bring out the feather detail for me. Good luck.
