Here's two older shots of mine I took with a point-and-shoot digital camera a few years ago. See what you think:

Do you want feedback on the photos? Or just care to discuss the new camera? ;^)

The photos....the bit about the camera was just an aside thought that was racing through my mind like a hamster on a wheel... |

While spinning there, post a link to your photos. These are pretty big for the forums. That or post them on DPC in your profilio section.
Lots of ppl have dial-up and this bogs up the site. :) |

Jonathan - Of the two I like Flower1.jpg the best. The empty darker area at the bottom adds a sense of depth. Some enhancements for me would be to crop off the right about 15-20% to lose the dead flower head and this would also reposition the main subject to an off-centered position. The top-right leaves would then form leading lines diagonally into the image and balance the composition some. The center flower seems a little soft, maybe out of focus? Some selective sharpening could help there.
Flower2.jpg could be more interesting if you could see all of the subject item - portrait instead of landscape orientation could have done that for you.
Why the interest in photos that are a couple of years old? Just curious...
