I just bought a yashica mat 124 g so I could do some 6x6 shooting...was so stoked to get it, loaded up the film..and bam...the shutter wont fire. It depresses all the way with nothing happening? does anyone have any ideas about the camera im talkin about and if you do, any ideas what's wrong? I know this isn't the best place to look cuz it's digital, but i've found often there is someone who can help around here. |

Why'd you buy it if it wasn't in working condition?

If you can't find your answer here there are quite a few yashicamat 124g users on photo.net. |

Do a search on google...I'm sure you'll find something there...just enter "yashica mat 124 g" and see where it takes ya.
Thought of something else...make sure your film is loaded up right, is the camera locked?...I have a Mamiya C330 and the shutter won't fire if either one of these things are messed up.

I just got an old Ricohcord from Ebay for the same reason and on mine you have to cock the shutter by pushing the lever in the opposite direction. Maybe yours works the same way. |

yeah I jsut figured this out like 10 min ago, when i reread the online manual to make sure i didnt miss anything. Sure enough i had to wind it the opposite way. Thanks for the help everyone. Same with when I was usin my school's hasselblad I think its broke and I just don't fully know how to use it yet. |

May or may not be appropriate with that model, but my old 35mm Voigtlander had to have the shutter cocked to work. |
