Not really sure about Image Ready.

Any insights about IR would be appreciated.

I am comfortable with PS, but what about this IR?

Thanks.

ImageReady is more for creating websites, optimizing graphics, making animations, etc. What sort of insights are you looking for? Help using it? Opinions about how it works?

No, not for website. But, after you said that, I can see how that would work.

But, for other PS stuff, IR does not come into play, correct?

If you have Photoshop and you're just using it for photography, there really isn't much reason to use ImageReady, no. Unless you want to do something specifically for the web, it isn't going to provide you with more or supplement Photoshop in any useful way.
