refracted in the acrylic ball! I had numerous comments asking me where the apple was. It can be seen fully in focus upside down through the acrylic ball and partially and out of focus to the left of the acrylic ball. Thanks for your suggestions everyone.

It's a great shot - I don't understand how people could not see the apple! It's huge!

I was quite happy with my score for this challenge and Iam learning a lot BUT I wonder how many people scored me low for the subject - no not the apple but the b....... big tarantula spider sitting on top of it!!!
I thought this might happen but it seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Comments often included "Euuugh !" or similar although many remarked on how clear the shot is.

I have been using this spider to desensitise myself from an absolutely phobia about spiders ( couldn't even look at one in a picture or video without breaking into a cold sweat before!) and it is working so...
WATCH OUT TARANTULA HATERS - BORIS WILL RETURN!!

if anyone who put my entry as a favourite (really thanks for that)

Is no-one commenting on their scores? What happened? Have all DPCs vanished from the earth?

i had a blast setting this one up...i laughed so hard with my different options that it was hard to take the shot...and that showed in the end result...but thank you all who appreciated my warped sense of humor

I'd like to comment that my score dropped BIG time between sunday night and tuesday. Although I gained some back last night it was really dishearting to see it run along nicely then suddenly drop. My latest is off to a lower than expected start but with ony 35 votes I guess it is ok. Congratulats to the top finishers in this challenge, there were some really good pictures out there.

I agree there were some wonderful shots in this challenge. I do think that there were some rather repetitive themes ( arrows, water, faces, stalks) but on the other hand these were brilliantly done. I was surprised not to see some more funny ones - apples on policeman's head, on buildings, being hit by cricket (or baseball) bats......
I think Decision will be even harder to be oringinal without losing the plot!
