This is my first bug photo.

I just want to say those dudes who keep uploading bug pics that get top tens deserve it. These shots are hard. I spent hours on this lousy imatation. I actually felt really bad about killing the ant. I put him in tupperware in the freezer to kill him.

I edited it for the open challenge.... I was going to call it "Big Fan of Sugar Grain Photos" uploaded somthing totally different instead.

Anywho, what did I do wrong? What score would you have given it?

Great shot....why didn't you submit this in the granular challenge?

I think I thought of a better idea and I was worried that people would say the SUBJECT wasn't granular. Do you think I made a mistake?

everything looks good except the lighting, but you new that. Besides using a ring flash Im not sure how else to get good lighting. I have tried several different light sources, bounced flash, but I am not getting the results I want.

Is a ring flash better than using two speedlights when doing bug photos?
