Open a new tab & type about:config in the address bar.
Type skins in the filter bar - this should leave you with just one line in the list called general.skins.selectedSkin.
Double click this line, clear whatever is in the input box that appears, then click okay.
Restart the browser while praying furiously : ) |
Done, but still can't get back to any other skin or theme. Also, I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but my PC locked up the mouse and I had to do a manual shutdown and change out mice. Urgghhhh. Wasted day!!!

I also have a quick question about FF Bookmarks.
I can Click on an individual bookmark and move it up or down to sort its order.
I cannot do the same if the bookmark is a "Folder" though.
When I goto Manage Bookmarks and Highlight the folder I want to move, it seems like the only option is to move it into another folder..
It has to be someone simple I am missing here..

I am hopelessly screwed here. I can't do a Windows Restore, my laser mouse died, and I can't get rid of this horrible Firefox interface. I guess I will have to reload it all and hope that does something. BTW - I had installed the Firefox update for v 1.0.4 today and tried the Silver Skin theme. Then began the nightmare. So beware.

At this point I'm thinking that a complete clearout of your Firefox settings might be the best idea ...
Backup your bookmarks (Manage Bookmarks->File->Export and save to a html file) and close Firefox.
In windows explorer type %userprofile%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
You should see a bunch of random letters followed by .default - delete this folder.
Now restart Firefox. It should start up with a completely clean config. |

Darn - I just uninstalled all of Firefox. I didn't see this. I am in IE right now. I am going to install FF again. Pray for me!

Bod - I have FF up again and all the old data flooded in, so I just backed up Bookmarks and will do what you had suggested. There are two "default" files. I think one may be for IE, though.

If they're both in the Firefox\Profiles folder then you can delete them both. |
