Not the smartest thing I have done in a while. My eyes are still stinging from the mist off the ocean. I also washed the camera and lenses off I used as they were covered in salt brine :-). Everything is dry and still works, but my eyes still hurt and I feel like I cannot get the salt out of my mouth.

Here is one of the photos, that was at least in focus. I should of tried overiding the flash setting and pushing for 1/1000 to 1/1600 of a second. Oh well next time.

If you don't mind my saying, hardly seems worth the risk to the equipment, LOL... I'm glad it (and you) survived.

I love the sea and waves, but I wouldn't risk my kit with a strong onshore wind! I try and find a day, or night, when the wind is blowing offshore, or coming from behind me at least. That way the spray doesn't get in your eyes or kit!



I took this one with the wind behind me earlier this year. It helps to "stand" the waves or spray up too, making for a more dramatic shot. I haven't tried one actually in the dark, though. Now there's a thought...
