| Just finished updating but had to do it direct to the camera, it would'nt work with my card reader. New menus look awesome. |

i did mine with the card reader and this is the first update i've made. worked just fine. :)

I've thought about this some, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't fix anything I feel is broken or offer anything new I've been wanting. It will change the way the camera works with new menus. I don't feel it is worth learning the new menus for the grins. Or resetting all the preferences I've finally got "just the way I want 'em."
So I've decided not to upgrade for now. |

Some other things I noticed after upgrading that are NOT mentioned anywhere:
- new softer, more "precise" sounding focus beep
- ability to choose closest-subject focus mode in non-auto modes! see custom settings menu

I don't think that is part of the upgrade. I'm able to select that in non-auto modes and haven't (probably won't) updated my firmware. |

All my settings stayed exactly where I left them. The menus are the same just look different (different font I think (clearer to read), and I have noticed that my lcd is a lot easier to see, for some reason.
the focus system does work a tad better and I did notice the beep is a bit softer.

The menus are much easier to read. There is nothing new to learn on the menus, and I didn't notice it changing anything. This is one upgrade that I think is definately worth doing.
