After taking a beating in the last few challenges , I swore no more challen ges for a while. Yet here I an 2 weeks later with entries in the latest challenges . My question Do I like the Pain heaped on me or do I enjoy the pain I give myself when watching the results . just a little navel watching wondering how others see them selves.

Hey Nick: I know the feeling. It is phase we all go through. My philosophy regatding this matter goes like this:

I ride a wave and the main thing is to satisfy myself. The wave has ups and downs but I just do not know when the best idea and presentation will come, so I keep on trucking but each negative results propels me to the next.

However, I do not identify failure with pain. It just means I did not try hard enough and the energies go to the next challenge. The main thing is not to have the past interfere with the present. That is devote all your energies to the current shoot and the wave will favor you at the most unexpected time. So, smile and keep on trucking.

I think everyone here is mostly masochistic and grows to enjoy the pain over time. Besides the site is so addictive, that you just can't stop yourself from entering...is there a 12 step program for DPC addicts?

I am beginning to realise that there are a few people here who have sadisitc tendencies:)) Always willing to dole out the 1's and to dismiss your carefully thought out baby with a single word putdown.

But real life is like that too. I just see it as fun; even when my image has bombed the few well thought out comments I get make it worth while...if just one person get's it, that's good enough for me.

Hang in there. We all go through cycles. 2 challenges ago I scored my absolute worst score and placement. Last challenge I had my personal best score and a 6th place finish. Graphicfunk gives good advice as usual. Focus on the current challenge and try to hold yourself accountable to a higher standard. You'll catch a wave!
