Young Skywalker, do not trust your senses... release yourself from them... let the energy flow through you.

Neatimage can be used for both good and evil. Use it only for good. Do not be seduced by the dark side.

May the force be with you!

Yeah, I tried neatimage and just didn't care for it. Then I read an
article in a photog magazine about noise ninja. I tried it and haven't
stopped using it!

CS2 has a neat filter in it already that appears to work very well...

So are any of these compatible with GIMP, or is there another one out there that will work with GIMP?
Not to hijack the thread, but I am curious....

Not sure if noise ninja is or not, but they do have a stand alone version, so you could still use it.

Noise Ninja has a standalone version that will work no matter what your editing program is.

I use the Neat Image. You can download a trial version and use and abuse of it. It ju's don't work with 16 bit images or as phothoshop direct filter, but in stand alone only. and yes, it can be good or evil. Sometimes I try to clean some images and after aplied I stick to the before image. Do you people that uses the other programs ever do so?

if you use it don't stik to the auto function, try the advance options. there are several combinations of noise reduction and image sharpening that you can do. try it out.

... And I was wondering... For you guys... What percentage of you images do you clean with such programs? All? All with high iso? All with high iso and a few "normal ones"? Just curious.

This image was taken at iso 1600, handheld with just room light. It was only converted to b&w and passed in to neat image.
