i personaly love my entry and i learned something new while trying to make my vision come to life.where and how u position ur lights can cause dramatic effects to a photo! my personal goal for this challenge is to finish with an average of 5.1....not too high a goal i hope :o)

I was actually thinking that this was going to be my first ribbon, but it isn't scoring as high as I expected. Still pleased as this is my fourth challenge in a row above 6 :o) |

If you check the last "open challenge" you will see that your score is actually pretty high.

you may have a chance of winning because i dont see this being a high scoring challenge, if ya know what i mean.

I must say this...I have gotten my feet wet now with two challenges. I had no idea what to expect. No excuses for either of my entries, they are what they are. I did no post processing of any kind on either except to crop/resize/save for web. I am quite pleased that they even were voted on so many times and not unhappy at all with scores. However, I am taking a different approach to Light and also Granular. So, so far, thanks for the votes and also your comments. And good luck to all.

Last time a mid-six won blue was in Conflict, Feb 2004, this shot:
and it was 6.60.
That was also the lowest-scoring blue winner ever.

I've got the same problem. I get a smile every time I go back and look at my own shot, but it's been hammered down to a high 4.9.
For my next entry, I may try an absolute change of style. None of the stuff I actually like seems to do well. |

Geesh, I've made 5 passes so far, starting the first pass at 3/4/5 (with 1:7 and 1:8 as a benchmark), the second pass, trying hard to separate the average from the chaff and the excellent from the superb, then admiting that I needed to already push the 8 up to a 9 and give it some company to make room in the 7/8 range.
Now I find I am forced to go back, push the 9s into 10's, separate a few 8's to 9's, even more 7's to 8's, a whole bunch of 6's to 7's...
Good thing I got an early start on this one. Cuz at this rate, I'll have at least most of the weekend to make one final pass with comments. So, I can safely say, in most cases, I'll be bumping up a lot over the next 2 days and I hope to hit 100% on comments as well.

| So, my score is sucking, around a 5.0 - but I've received 8 comments so far, and I'm THRILLED about that. Granted, they're not, by far, raving ones, but I just love comments period, so this is exciting. :) Plus, this is the first challenge I can UPDATE frequently on - a WHOLE new world of obsession! |

Having seen so many of the entries that show apples in every conceivable condition, I have to know what would have happened if I had entered one of my other shots. Could I get a couple of votes on these just for my peace of mind.

thanks for the comments. I went back and scrolled that second one up to crop it and it does look better. I felt the first was better but I have had other comments regarding liking the second. tks

Wishlist = someone wants you to make ready a print, so they can buy it
Favorites = someone included your image as a favorite of theirs
