I live in Iceland and that means that "midnight" on the east coast is about 4am during the summer and 5am during the winter as we don´t have daylight savings hours.

That means that I get to submit 4 hours later than people in USA for example and that is just what I did with my apple challenge, it was about 10pm last night but about 2am the 18th of may where I am at.

It just made me wonder that if I had taken the shot maybe 2 minutes after midnight on the 18th of may according to the .exif, would that mean disqualification even though I would have then gotten it edited and sent in before midnight on the 17th of may?

No. You'd just list the 17th as the date and note the time difference if asked for validation. The "official" time for DPC is Eastern Standard Time and shown in gray at the bottom of the screen.

Interesting question, I have also wondered this as I am in the UK and it is 5am in the morning here when the comps close.

Thanx Scalvert, good to know. Anyway just to be clear the photo is taken the 16th and I haven´t done this yet, take a photo after midnight and then submitting right away but I usually only submit the last day and often right around midnight.
