I assume you're talking about the thread I put the link in that points to the profile of whomever clicks it - this thread.

In hind sight, it may have been a bit cruel, which I'm not about. I PM'd the one person who replied & may not have understood, I'd hate to think I hurt someone's feelings. It may have been a better joke if I'd used "love" instead of "hate" and I could have talked about how I'm travelling to try to find my new love. Oh well.

:-(

edit to reduce heart attacks!

You talking about me again?:))

I didn't reply on the thread because once the joke dawned on me, I didn't want to spoil it for others. I've been laughing about it ever since.

LOL. That was funny. It had me going for a millisecond of shock. "What!? What did I do?!" *realization dawns on me, then laughter*

Yay Slippy! Even I had a tiny bit of a shock when I looked at it just now. :)

You're a pretty funny guy! But not nearly as funny and clever as this person! - they really make this site a joy! I don't see that person online much or I would let them know how absolutely uniquely wonderful they are!

Very funny... Heart skipped a beat and then I found myself laughing.

Not to stir the pot or anything, but is anyone else a little bothered by a thread being locked because someone got offended (or someone could be) offended because they don't understand the joke?

If you're itchin to use the thread-lock feature, how about slamming the door on the threadkiller thread? ;-)

I edited my post at the top of this thread to reduce heart attacks. I suppose it could be considered "wrong" to immediately link to a thread that's been locked. I'll try to think twice about using my brand of humour in future with the variety of folks who frequent DPC.
:-(

Maybe moving the thread into 'rant' could have been an option.

Or maybe the admins could add an 'Ignore monthly link to own profile gag thread' option ;)

Oh no, this is a terrible realization for me! Am I not the first to come up with this gag?

I want a "ignore that the thread is locked and post a reply to it anyway" option. :)

Poor Slippy - not only was his gag not understood, it wasn't even his!!

>hugs Slippy<

It'll be ok, hon. I'm sure you'll come up with something else to amuse us soon.
