Just wanted to share this with you. My daughter, Naomi, is home from Navy Tech School for a few weeks. She will then be reporting to Japan and the USS Kitty Hawk. The photos in the airport came out really bad (my external flash wouldn't work for some reason). I have others of her and my son Joshua, who is also in the Navy, in my portfolio in the "Naomi and Joshua" folder. We are now going to enjoy some time with her because after she leaves, who knows how long it will be until we get to see her again! I'll be adding photos to this folder so feel free to check it out. Happy shooting!

Oh happy Dad!
Tell she needs a haircut - just kidding.

and ANY picture is better than no picture, so make no apologies here.
Cherish the times too. The world and life is changing way too fast.

Nice to see the National Defense Ribbon brought back in. Well maybe not a good thing - only issued to those service in a time of war. Got mine back in early 1974 during Vietnam era.

You have a wonderful time together, look forward to seeing some of the pics.

And Brad is right bout the airport ones. You've captured a very precious moment in time, they're great photos for that alone.

Was she at tech school here in Great Lakes, IL. I work (live) here on the base and drive by those schools everyday. Glad she got home before all the heat started kicking in.

Good luck in the Navy Naomi and keep in touch with your family as much as possible, I didn't have internet when I was in Japan and the distance from my wife and family was sometimes unbearable. BZ shipmate

Naomi went to Basic Training in the great lake and we got to see her graduate. She went to Virginia Beach, Virginia for Tech School. We have her for 3 weeks before she goes to Japan. (I'm actually bumping this to brag on my little girl some more!)

Yep, they've been awarding it. I got mine in the first gulf war. Doesn't seem that long ago, but many years.

Congradulations Ray, to you and your daughter! That's quite a milestone achievement.

Ah yes, Great Lakes. I was a gas turbine tech in the Navy, so I was there several times, boot camp, "A" school, "C" school, and my last tour of duty as an Instructor. hmmm, memories :-)

As a former instructor at the GLNTC Class "A" and "C" Electronics Technician schools, I can vouch that she has received an excellent technical education.
My first boat, the USS Blueback participated in many exercises with the USS Kitty Hawk, back in 1961-62. Of course there was always an affectionate nick name applied to Navy ships. If Naomi does not know the one applied to the Kitty Hawk, pm me for the apellation!

My brother served in the Navy (first Iraq war) and more recently in the National Guards doing a tour of just over a year in Iraq (second war). I understand the honor and dedication of all in the armed forces. Please give your daughter my family's thanks and my thanks for serving our country so proudly. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and to all who are serving to keep us free both here and abroad.

God bless the USA and all who serve to keep her!
