I will have camera equipment, wearing a black baseball cap with "FOOL" across the front and accompanied by a little Indian girl. I will see you at McDonalds at 4, probably will get there a few hours earlier though,k I know there are many things to photograph.

A big 'thanks' to Mirdonamy and fulgent for organizing the Sedona sunset GTG. It is always fun meeting up with DPCers to put real faces to the photographers we know online. It was nice briefly meeting Justine and her husband and taking pictures with Mirdonamy and her new DPC recruit, fulgent and BAMartin.

Looking forward to seeing Cathedral Rock sunset pictures taken at Red Rock Crossing/Crescent Moon Ranch southwest of Sedona since, unfortunately, I ran out of battery power before the best lighting occured. But if what I saw while chimping BAMartin's shots is any indication there will be some spectacular images.

I took a lot of images that day and will be putting some of them into a gallery for show sometime later this week. I promised myself I would finish my Mogollon Rim pictures from the previous week before I did any new Sedona ones.

Barbara... spectacular shots. I'm jealous. I'd like to get together for a PS session with you sometime soon.

Beautiful Barbara. Really awesome work. Sorry I missed sundown.

I will try and get mine up.

Loved meeting Mirdonamy (total doll) and Steve, he's a doll too! Sorry I missed you. Hey, old folks need their rest! It's sure a fun area for hiking, and shooting. Great day there.

Great photos Barbra, sorry I missed this one.

LOL Steve you just like goin' places and takin' pictures! Don't those ears get in the way of your shutter? :)
How about a shoot up near Page? Glen Canyon or around Flag? Like you I'm up for it.

Justine,

Page, AZ? YOU BET! I think that is a great idea. There are tons of great photo ops up there. That place is SOOOOOOOOOO cool and I need a lot more slot canyon pictures. I'm dying to get back up there and capture some new additions for my Page, AZ PBase galleries:

Red Mountain just outside of Flagstaff?

Page will be getting too hot for all day trips in about a month so that would need to be soon. I could probably list 10 places where we could easily spend all day up there.

A West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon Photo hike would be great.

The crappy part of being relativly new to photography is that I don't have photos from most of the cool places I've been...

OK... Here is a start to the images I took last weekend in Sedona. These are the ones taken at the Palatki Heritage site I visited before meeting up with everyone else:

I still have yet to post-process most all my rock art images and then the few I took at Red Rock Crossing.

Lori... I have made the trip to Page and back as a day trip. You have to leave around 3AM and you get back after dark but it is worth the effort. There are so many fantastic things to photograph that you can go again and again and never photograph the same places twice. It is best to spend several days up there if you can.

BTW, welcome to DPC. Hope you join in some photo safaris with local DPCers sometime. That would be fun.

I am out of school from June 20 to July 10 and plan on doing a long drive about (maybe a week or so) and this is one of the places on my list. Anyone interested in joining all, or part, of my drive about, I would love to have you join me. More details to follow. I guess I should firm up plans and start a new thread.

Steve..Thanks. I will try to meet up with local DPCers. Do any of you get together for shoots in the local Phoenix area?

I just got back last night. I will be post-processing the photos sometime over the next week. I took 700 photos! I went to Joshua Tree, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Jerome, Las Vegas... wow, what a trip!

It was great meeting all of you!

Had a great time at the Sedona GTG. It was a pleasure to meet you folks who were able to show up.

The Cathedral Rock photos by Barbara are great and well done so I'll show some other views of my trip.

This is the Sedona rock formation called "Snoopy". He is lying on his back. Not sure where the best viewing spot is located. But you can get the idea.

This stormy sunset was taken from the Sedona airport overlook the night before the Saturday Sedona GTG.

Here is a reflection shot of Cathedral Rock from Red Rock Crossing in Crescent Moon Park during the GTG.

The sunset as we were leaving Crescent Moon Park Saturday evening.

Flagstaff on my drive home gave me a chance to shoot this shot.

fulgent... nice images. I enjoyed meeting everyone in Sedona. I remember the ones taken of the reflection of Castle Rock in the pool of water. I still have not got to the images captured when we were all together.

I'm slowly chipping away at the images I took that day... I've added some of the Rock Art I photographed at the Palatki Heritage Site...

I still have more to add to that gallery and then I went back again last Saturday and took some more Rock Art at that same site. There are two other Rock Art sites in the Sedona area I am bound and determined to photograph as well. That virtually assures that I will never get caught up on post processing. :)

Also hiked to a place called the Devil's Bridge and got this shot:

More to come later... :)

So, I took about 700+ photos the week I was on vacation. I narrowed them down to about 380 I like. I am in the process of editing them. I edited 100 of them tonight. I hope to finish by the end of the weekend. Then I'll send a link!

I finally finished the Sedona pix. This set is a select few that I really liked. The Flagstaff & Grand Canyon photos aren't done yet, but here are the Sedona ones: //www.mirdonamy.com/photoalbumcat.php?albumName=phtravel&cat=az&subcat=azsedona

Enjoy! Leave comments if you want to :)
