Well, my wife and I got back from Europe last night. We stayed in Germany for a few days, then drove through Austria to Italy for a week where we stayed in the mountains (with a detour to Venezia). Here are the first-fruits of our vacation...these are a few photos from Italy:

I think I like these two the most:

Thanks for sharing. Of course for some of the pictures this was intended, but I noticed all of them are a shade dark. Just giving you a heads up, in case you had not intended this and need to do calibrations. I love the worn yellow in the light photo. And your use of light (challenge is in mind).

Thanks for the memories. Not surprised most of the shots are from Venice. I have to get back there!

Loved 'red reflection ..."

Yeah, I need to stop toning on my laptop...Here at work, they seem a bit dark as well, although most photos seem a bit darker on this monitor. One day, I'll buy a separate monitor for editing and I'll make sure it's calibrated!

Welcome home!! If this image is any indication of what's to come, then you had a v-e-r-y successful trip, at least as far as the photos go. Looking forward to seeing more!

A few more...these are a few taken from a castle in germany. They're quick edits and i'm not completely happy with my toning yet:

I'd like to know how many photos you took. Look forward to seeing more. I really like the one Nova and Peecee liked. (The highlighted orange one)

I was in Europe for about ten days and took just over 1200 photos. A whole lot of those (maybe half) are of family members I haven't seen (and likely won't see again) for years.

I would have taken more photos, especially landscapes/city scapes, but I had a bad cold the entire time and had little ambition to do more than just soak it all in!

I spent five years bouncing around Europe and have almost no photo's to show for it. It was near the end of my time there that I started to get into photography. I miss it

Thanks for sharing these. I love Europe and was stationed in Germany twice. I spent many a day on the grass near the river in Heidelburg. Nice shots here! :)

Sure, the light was bad (really bad...2pm bad) but it was the only opportunity I had to photograph this church in the dolomites

Just a bump to collect some more comments on these photos from Europe/Italy until I get a chance to post a few more...Thanks!
