How can I save a script in photoshop?

This set of instructions to be exact...

"I have my own sharpen script that I run through Pshop regardless of the pic quality, it has always improved the image :
- USM : effect 18, radius 40, threshold 0
- USM : effect 150 radius 0.3, threshold 0
- edit/fade USM, 100%, darken blend mode,
- USM : effect 150 radius 0.3, threshold 0
- edit/fade USM, 50%, brighten blend mode.
Save it at once and run it every time you want!"

What version of photoshop do you have?
If you are using PS7 try this link
If you are using PS/CS it is already built in. Look under the folder Adobe> Photoshop CS> Scripting Guide.
Hope this helps

Thanx. I have CS.

Do you actually have to write code to save a script? What a nightmare!

Steve,

Take a look at this thread concerning this exact thing, same USM process and saving it as an action.

Brad-You Da MANNNNNN!!!

I'll give it a whirl.

Is that a pretty standard step-set that I posted above, for using USM to imrove color etc? I see the exact same commands in the thread you pointed me to and wonder if there are other miracle cures out there for certain desired effects?

Also should this be applied to RAW or will it work well with high end jpegs?

Thanx

Heres a rather good action that beautifully enhances images, Labeled 10DFinisher however it works fine on any digital photo. Just extract from the zip file thern within photoshop load the action in your actions pallet. Photoshop Action Finisher

Actually, I have not used this method (no reason - just never did)

I pretty much run USM on lightness channel (Labcolor) at 50, 0.3, 0 and see the effect. Too much and I edit, fade, or if not enough, run USM again and fade if necessary, converting back to RGB.

Concerning RAW, I am not he one to ask and hope someone else will chime in here. I've never shot in RAW.

I did everything as stated. But when I bring up another picture I see the Action but can't get it to run. Don't know what to do to make it run. It asked me for a 'key' to activate and I designated F2 but don't work. ??????????

Scott

Bring up your picture> Go to Actions>Then choose the Action that you Recorded/Saved (in my case it was that USM sequence)and click on that> then on the bottom of that window/screen hit what looks like a play button/arrow

...and the sequence should run.

Let me know if that works.
