Thank you so much for a wonderful week, two ribbons and your great comments. Yes it was very unexpected !!
My Late Night entry was shot quiet late in the week as I was too busy with other stuff and was planning to skip the challenge, but I could get some time on Monday night to snap this and it did unexpectedly well.

I have shot this before but always in color and I tried a different toning this time and it worked :)

The Five submission was one of my attempts at capturing smoke, I have tried that before but everytime, I am missing something.

This was also an attempt at capturing smoke.. I wanted 5 trails of smoke coming out of the five match sticks, but I failed again :(
it was too difficult for me to light and extinguish all of them at the same time when you use your left hand, as your righ hand is on camera ready to click. I was looking through the shots and this looked neat with soft focus on smoke ( shot at F2.8, 100mm ), so I worked on this a little, very basic edits and submitted.

Once again thank you everyone for your comments and votes.

Now I am looking forward to the Weekly Update email to save it !!

How dare you win two ribbons in one week. Some people just don't know how to share! Hog!

;-)

(Actually, absolutely stunning shots, both of them, and I hope to see more :) )

Sometimes you just get lucky. Now that I know I have no luck in near future, I should just sit down and watch :D

All I can say is if you get another ribbon during the next month, I'm coming over and smashing that 100m macro.

Congrats on being a front page
and joining the ranks of the few, the proud and the never to have it happen again crowd.

(well in your case, probably not the last part at the rate you are going)

May be I should think about investing in Nikon now ;)

Hasn't made any difference for me yet, or on second thought it has, but I'm a slow learner :)
