I was going to get the F828 and give my F717 to my G/F and .....oops its been killed off. I was wondering why I could not find one at my local Box stores. It just came out, whats up with that??

Arrrg.

i worked in a box store and playing around with it i noticed that many many came back with ccd probs and some were DOA

Why would you want the F828? It's outdated and wasn't exactly an outstanding camera, none of the first-gen 8 mp prosumers were.

Wasnt there a thing about the night vision used in daytime could actually see through clothing... I remember reading it somewhere, maybe everyone bought them all up..

They are still very available in Japan and i used to have one they are an awsome camera they really are. The lens alone is f2.2 through the range and Zeiss specs. Yeh I know Sony have issues but its a great camera. If i ever needed a prosumer then i would get another F828 at the drop of a hat.

sony did have this problem but it wasnt with the 828

in fact it was many (6ish) years ago when the night-shot was really starting to come around in the camcorders.
