well I've finally gone and done it! I took my apple picture and submitted it. I could have played about a lot more with it and probably made it look worse than it is lol but I thought I'd better not.
I think I could have submitted a hundred type of apple pics from the ideas I had, but I've gone for more of a fun thing than anything else.
I am sure I will probably be last, but hey, I've had fun doing this! I am now on the lookout for a better camera for my birthday which is soon, so things (and my pictures) can only get better! (",)

Congratulations on your first entry. I wish you well in the challenge, we all have to start somewhere now is just as good as any. And I believe you will do better than you think.

Well good luck with your first challenge and the search for a new camera! start off high then work your way to the $1000 cams, then they wont seem so bad :)

thanks everyone (",) I have been having another look through some of the other challenges entries and I'm now actually thinking I could have done a lot better than what I've entered... I still have 2 days don't I? lol I think my picture looks quite grainy and I didn't really want a sun shine spot on it either, but some of the great pics have all that...hmmm

I'm not too sure if what I've done is right though lol I thought I would just leap into a challenge and see what advice people could give me. I've found everyone here to be realy really helpful and I really enjoyed trying to set up my shot. I think I took about 50 pictures before I was happy!

Sometimes the results are less than someone expects , there are so many different voters but most important thing here is to learn and to enjoy !
There are fantastic people here and excellent photographers , people who share experience and "savoir faire".

Well congratulations! I know the feeling. I have viewed this site for quite a while now and Apple is my first challenge as well. And the bug that bit me after I made my submission infected me to the point that almost immediately afterward I joined the site as a member so I could make a submission to the silhouettes challenge.
Now I am just nervous.

That's the REALLY important thing. YOU HAD FUN!! Don't be too discouraged by any score. Keep trying to improve AND ALWAYS TRY AND HAVE FUN. The scores will hopefully become secondary.

thanks everyone. That's what I love about being on here, everyone is so friendly as so willing to help! I plan to join as soon as I get paid on the 20th of this month. It is addictive huh? And I'm sure, even with my little camera, I'll soon be taking pictures that I can REALLY be proud of! Until I get a better one that is!! I did enjoy thinking of what to do for the apple challenge and it was so funny with what I did in the end. I really did enjoy myself.

Just remember not to publicly discuss a specific entry which will be up for vote. Keeping the annonyminity (or how ever you spell that) is important. |

Well, This is the first challenge I have entered as well. Actually, I have only publicly posted/show a handful of photos ever!! Generally, the creative side of me remains in a deep coma, but, I actually came up with a couple of ideas on this one.
So, do you ever get to the point where you are completely satisfied with an entry, or does everyone keep thinking "oh, I should change this, and I could try that" over and over? :-)
Anyway, good luck to the other first timers!!
