Graphicfunk is very well known;
His photos seem surreal when shown.
But he's now seeing double
And his comments are trouble
For all of us who's highlights are blown! |

I walked around Disney today,
Yelling to my boyfriend, "Hey".
I gotta get this shot,
Like it or not.
So get those people outta the way.

There's nothing like reading a Limerick
tho sometimes the rhyming makes me sick
watch that your long A
matches with ay and eigh
I swear some of you are myopic.

Artyste is right on the limerick way
your rhymes must be a, a, b, b, and a.
so get it down please
I beg on my knees
Keep your lyrics from going astray!

One linked limerick got it all started,
This fine thread full of verse so light-hearted,
Though a few don't quite rhyme,
At least not all the time.
You might say that those poets brain-____.

My triangle entry is climbin'
I'm havin' a lot of fun rhymin'
Most Sundays are borin'
I'm usually snorin'
But this one I've had a good time in

Try not to give in to temptation
and over enhance saturation
'cuz by stretching the rules
with your Photoshop tools
you'll end up with disqualification

Ribbons! Blue, yellow and red,
Though virtual, dance in my head.
But my photo skills lack-
(You might say I'm a hack)-
I should try for brown one instead! |

I proceed with a detailed inspection
as I browse through the latest collection
But I must lament
to vote twenty percent
I'll need more than a dialup connection!

As photo photographers agree
a photo is pho-taw-graphy
but a photo of Toto
is Toto when photo'd
by a photographer named Dorothy

You've had all the day to revise this,
To re-edit and tweak and disguise this.
To each syllable count,
Use the metered amount,
In the future I wouldn't advise this ...
... actually, I would, though you'll make other writers jealous : ) |

So sue me - my meter's amiss
says the Gen'ral (a poetic pris)
But I'll throw back a flame,
'cuz at least *I* can claim
that I didn't thrice use the word this!

I must break out *my* editing pen,
in reviewing your lines yet again,
though I don't mean to gloat
but the words that you wrote
meter 9, 10, 6, 6 and a 10!

1) I was praising your technical compositional skills.
2) Mine involved a compound rhyme, based on rhyming the words preceeding the this ... not dissimilar from rhyming words ending with "...tion" or "...ier" or "...iest"
Mostly I was commenting on how dsa157 seemed to get into the game late (about which I could be mistaken -- I may have missed some postings), and thus had time to achieve such a masterful result, whereas I suspect many people were treating this like a speed challenge, or even a chatroom conducted in limerick form.
I only got introduced to limerick-writing a few months ago, via the OEDILF project so though I'm no "expert" I am now in the habit of looking at them both for pure enjoyment and with an editor's eye, much as I look at the photos here.
If you like writing these, I highly recommend checking out the OEDILF -- in many ways it forms a parallel with the DPC community, only centered around a verbal rather than photographic challenge.
Please, continue versifying in whatever way pleases you! |

but I'm not using time as a lever,
that is just not the case,
though I'm late to the race,
I'll catch up cuz I'm just so damn clever!

You know that I respect you highly,
and consider you witty and wily
I think this first rate
our web based tete a tete
so you can't just respond with a smiley...

You two really have got quite the gall
to chat about rhymin'
and poetic timin'
when you're constantly droppin' the ball!

What's the deal now with my man, Artyste?
You - I thought I could count on at least,
but my previous posting,
had way to much boasting,
So support for me seems to have ceased!
:(

hehe.. just a bit of a rib, as your last posting contained a 9, 10, 5, 6, 9 .. unless you're generous and put tete a tete as two syllables, somehow ;)
and, so you don't yell at me..
I apologize for my great haste
I realize your rhymin's no waste
you've got tons of skill
and limerick at will
though I wonder if you cut and paste ;)

Maybe tired and stiff fingers will stumble,
In a typewriter's version of mumble.
Though I try to be nice
With some helpful advice
I will have to deny any fumble. |

yeah! I agree - like he said!
you should go back and read what you read,
just cuz lines get too runny,
doesn't mean they ain't funny,
and now back to hijacking this thread...
