I was looking for birds to photograph without having much luck, but this little chipmunk kept me busy editing photos. Please feel free to post your shots from this week also.

Cute thumbnail, but there's a lot of noise in that one. What ISO were you using? I'm assuming that's a fairly small area cropped from a much larger photo?

I did the USS Midway tour and a Habor Excursion... There is tons to see on the USS Midway - I spent probably 3 hours on that guy...that is one big aircraft carrier...

Thanks dp, yes you're right about the noise factor being quite high in that shot. I've never quite understood what people mean about "100% crop" etc, but just suffice it to say that it's an extreme blowup. To my unpracticed eye, most or all of the noise looks to be in the background, for what that's worth. ISO 400, by the way. Thanks for the look and comment.

I like both of your shots, but your "Operating Room" had me going for a split second :o) That sounds like a tour I would hope to make one day.

Nova, that chipmunk is just the sweetest! made me laugh at it's greed! :-)

Thursday was our Independence day and since I am crazy about fireworks, I decided I just had to shoot those!
So for the first time in my life, I actualy got to shoot them!!!
Any suggestions on fireworks shoot will be appreciated, although it probably won't be helping me much before next year :-/

That's a cute chipmunk! Nice bokeh too.

There was a local festival going on here so I've been shooting a bunch of candids.

This one is especially sharp, the best of the bunch just for the fireworks IMO:

but the inclusion of lights on the ground in the background make this one very special!

I'm with ace, would like to hear how you went about getting these wonderfuls shots.

Oh, wow! thanks guys! :-)
I am so unsure about those since it was the first time I ever shot fireworks.
I will add the exif for all of them in a few minutes.

Hmm, so it isn't just my computer then? Hope she'll be back soon, her photos are unsurpassed here in my opinion.

I went out trying for a silhouette today, but the weather really wasn't right for it. But I got this candid of a young couple - grain added to give it an antiquey look.
