As I understand it, the following procedure is required.
1. Gather your materials; include a copy of the original, unaltered file and the finished image as submitted, a .txt file detailing each step of your post-production, and affidavits from at least 3 citizens of voting age in your own country as to your sobriety and good character;
2. Use the member search feature to gather out the e-mail addresses of ALL SC plus Drew and Langdon;
3. Use Outlook Express to prepare a mail to be sent to all these recipients;
4. Make the subject line "Validation Requested, O Mighty Ones";
5. Include in the body of your mail a 12-step plan for ridding DPC of trolls and fringe voters (make this as detailed as possible);
6. Attach your materials to this mail;
7. Send the mail;
8. Sacrifice a virgin or a small goat while your children dance half-naked in circles around it chanting "D is equal to PC squared!";
9. Photograph the sacrifice as it happens (your wife or husband may do this for you if you lack a cable release of sufficient length);
10. Post the images of the sacrifice in a public thread for all to see;
11. One of the SC will monitor the thread for appropriateness of sacrifice;
12. If the sacrifice passes muster and attracts at least 100 responses in 24 hours your image will be pre-validated.
Please note; if you have no spouse and children your life has not been validated, and neither will your image be.

LOL thanks bear. Can I scarifice this person I took a photo of yesterday: This is the fashion of a typical new mexican. Unfortunately it is way out of focus. Not use to driving around the city here and just taking peoples photographs and driving off.
Yeah I tried to PM General but must have missed him. Langdon was on but didn't want to bother anyone over my trivial shot.
What if I scarifice El cupha cabra (the goat sucker).

I see it now ... those PM's arrive in our regular email, not via an on-site notification, so we often don't see them (or have access to them) even though we are on the DPC site. This is a problem we are "discussing" currently.
I believe what you need to do is wait until the challenge closes; if you click on your own photo on the voting page, there should magically appear a link to "Request a Validation Note" or something like that. When you follow that link, you'll be taken to a page where you can upload the original photo and paste in the text of the editing steps.
Basically, it follows the same pathway as if someone else requested a DQ, but sooner, and with more confidence that the photo is legal. Remember though, if you did make a mistake with your editing steps or date or something, this could get the photo DQ'd as well. |

Gotcha. So basically a pre validation just focuses on the original file. Not any editing. Until or unless someone requests a DQ the SC requests a list of steps and ect ect.
Will submit it and take my chances. I am confident I did not step out of the Advanced editing rules. Never used nay filters....just colors...but in a "weird" way. |

It also helps us if you will let us know "why" you want a validation.

Well just not sure if my editing steps are "legal" I mean I did not create, move, manipulate any major element. But if you seen the original file and what my submission was...you would probrably want to know what I did to get it to look that way. Just trying to avoid getting a DQ. Plus their is still time for me to edit it with any violations if their are any or retake a whole new shot. |

No, we want to know the editing steps, and we need to original for comparison.

Then how would it be a pre validation? If I wait until the challenge closes then it will be a DQ if it found to be illegal. Maybe I should just email someone with the original and my entry and my steps.
Getting paranoid now. |

If you want our personal opinion, then you can post it in your Workshop folder (along with a description of the editing steps) and email SC members a link. However, getting one or more SC members to say they think a photo is either OK or a DQ candidate is not a formal decision, nor a guarantee that the majority wouldn't vote to DQ it upon later review. There is really no such thing as "pre-validation" as I think you envision it. If there were, we might have to review every photo before it was submitted ...
I thought what you wanted was what I think we call an Administrative Note, where, if you think people will request a DQ, you want to start the official review process ASAP and essentially initiate it yourself. |

Gotcha now. Sorry for the misunderstanding. that is what I was wondering. If everyone wanted to get a entry pre validated you would need 100 people on SC to handle the load.
I would like someone's opinion and will follow your advice.
