Nothing wrong with being broad, it gives everyone a theme and a focus.
I thought that S provided more variation and therfore avoiding too much repetition.
We could always really narrow the field and go with X, Z or Q |

The letter S could also be used as a composition tool, curvy leading line rather than an object with a name starting with S however that would be a completely different challenge.
A challenge that's a little less literal could be interesting.
