Has anyone ever successfully used a high ISO (i.e. 800+) with their DSLR during the day? What I mean is, using the high ISO even though it is not necessary for a good exposure. I am interested in the types of shots you've created. Attach some examples if you have any. I am going to attempt this type of photo once I get my camera back from the shop. I did it with a film camera and black and white film a long time ago and it resulted in some cool moody, grainy images.

I suppose I could just use photoshop to add grain in post process, but the effect might not look authentic.

We have some sports photographers here who use high ISO to freeze the action. Have a look at the "Team Sports" or "Extreme Action" challenge.
