Ok,

this is probly brining up a dead topic, but again, I am not sure, so I need to ask.

Site Councel members, is it legal to have my Apple red in color, while the rest of the pix is b&w within the basic editing criteria?

need to know before my head explodes.

thanks.

It can be. Check this tutorial for methods of selective desaturation that are legal for basic editing. And post back if that doesn't help.

You can do it as long as you apply desaturationj without using selections. In other words, open hue/saturation layer and desaturate all channels except red, see how that looks, maybe slide some yellow back in, monket with it and see what you get. The BEST way is to selectthe apple, invert the selction, and desaturate "everythign but apple", but you can't do that in basic.
