A manufacturers rep from Cannon is comming to a local camera store. Has anyone had good experiences getting a good deal? BTW, I'm considering a Cannon Powershot A-95. Any advice will be appreciated.

The old Camera World..now Ritz in Portland, Oregon used to have them come all the time. It was a real mob scene and also a lot of fun. They know so much and can really guide you to what your looking for. It's free to pump them for information and they usually have some good specials going.
Have fun. |

My Experience with Manufacturers Rep's is that you might get a nice keychain or a pen or coolie for free, but they can't deal with you, the store may have some specials going on, but if you are looking to strike a bargain one-on-one with the rep, it doesnt work that way..
I dont know if this is what you were asking?
Thats speaking from 5+ years of retail experience..
My 2 cents..

If it's a paid workshop class given at a hotel or convention hall or something, they will have some kind of retail table or room that may have discounted items.

I'm impressed that in a half hour I got this many responses. I am looking for a good deal, and the camera shop is selling it for 269.95. It's less than 300 from last month, but I still want it lower.
I can save about $30 by getting it online, but the camera store has given me good service in the past with other photographic equipment for my SLR (flash stopped working 5 months after I bought it and they exchanged it without a hassle), that I don't mind paying that little extra incase something goes wrong with the new camera.
I want a good camera that fits into a motorcycle jacket or a compartment on a Goldwing. Do you guys think this is a good choice?
