I had a hard drive crash so i fixed the problem and now i have 2 drives.
The new one has windows Xp that i run as the master hard drive and the older one that i use as the slave drive.
I have my photoshop CS on my old drive "Slave drive".
Now when i try to open photoshop i get a warning...."Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again"
When i click ok the program shuts down.
I have gone under system and adjusted the performance settings to best performance and still nothing.
Where do i go from here and what might the problem be?
Thanx for any help.
Chas

Where was PS installed before the hard drive crash? On the same drive you are running now? If not, have you uninstalled and reinstalled?

Without a long story, the "slave drive" that i am running is my origional drive installed in my computer and that i sthe drive that PS was installed on origionaly.
So really it is just a different placement of the drives.
Does that make sense>?

Photoshop needs to be reinstalled. All your registry settings will be gone, you won't be able to run PS from the slave drive.

So i'm guessing that even since i moved it from the slave to the master thats why it still wont run.

Yep, that's the reason. These days, it's a rare application that you can move from drive to drive without reinstalling. There are some third party applications out there that claim to be able to move apps, how successful they are i do not know. I usually like to start clean anyway, limit the clutter.

I partitioned my Drive yesterday, ended up having to reinstall a number of programs.
PSCS2 took 5 mins.....

so for me it was simple swift and painless. I just made a coffee and it was done..
