Q1) Beside price, is there a significant difference between the two macro lenses Nikkor 105mm D & Sigma 105mm? If budget isn't an issue, which macro lese would u prefer to buy for ur Nikon DSLR?
Q2) Also looking for a good wide angle lense and wonder if anyone has used Nikon's AF-S 12-24mm f/4G DX ED-IF ? Is there a better option available?

//www.fredmiranda.com has lens reviews.
Personal experiences from users here could also be helpful.
For macro you could also consider the Tamron 90mm.

I have the Sigma 105mm F2.8, and it's WONDERFUL! Most of my latest pictures have been taken with that lens, it's reduced sensor dust a lot, because I hardly ever change the lens anymore. I love it for people pictures too.

I have the sigma 105mm also and find it to be an excellent lens. Some people will only buy Nikkor lenses just like some people will only buy Canon lenses, it's a personal choice. Other wide angle choices in the same size (12-24) would be Sigma and Tokina. The Tokina 12-24 came out recently and is currently (as far as I'm aware) the cheapest at 500 USD and it has had fairly good reviews. |
