The second one I found uninteresting, and confusing...what/where is Canberra. I just could not see the point the artist was trying to get across. Thus I scored it as a 1.

Canberra is the capital city of Australia. I visited it recently and found it to be quite a nice town. However, when I told some Australians that I was going to visit Canberra, they looked at me cross-eyed and asked why in the world I would ever want to go there. Apparently, they think Canberra is about as boring a town as there is. This might help explain the photo's title.

I just figured it was a commentary on the lack of social activities there after dark.

Canberra - so it's not a miss-spelling of cranberry...

That is quite likely why they find it so boring. Although I had quite a bit of fun there after dark. There was one particularly rowdy Irish Pub -- wish I could remember it's name, though.

See, now I thought the opposite.
I've seen thousands of cow fields - ho-hum...
But Canberra at night!
I laughed so hard I gave it an 8 just for the pure emotional response. A sense of humor scores high for me.

Will the Yankees win in the 9th? Can Berra hit another home run?

Wow, I am stunned. You don't know the capital of Australia (don't even recognize it when you see it written), yet you gave a 10 to a (second, identical) totally black "picture" ???

No wonder I'll never learn what will or won't do well in a challenge.

I did actually think it was a city in Australia...it didn't jibe with me. I do confess ignorance at not knowing that it was the capital. I guess I always think of Sydney as the capital. Just like some think of New York City as the capital of New York.

Well albany is the capital of new york... so there :)!....

I spent half an hour there once waiting for the bus driver to finish with the bathroom so we could get back on the road.

And as boring as canberra is, I'd have to say that's not exactly a flattering comparison :).

It's quite obvious! The image scoring higher was submitted earlier and therefore is deserving of the higher placement...

Image #173434 = 2.364
Image #173745 = 2.164

Lesson to be learned here? Get your submissions in early! ;^)
