My boys picked me a beautiful vase full of red and pink roses for Mothers Day. I shot this in natural light on a white background, I tried my hand at editing it.. how does it look? I fear it might be to blurry or i dunno... It seems I think something looks good then I enter it in a challenge and it gets picked apart lol.. opinions? thanks

nice editing job. The shadows and the border all work. Job well done.

It's a very nice edit. My only nit is the harsh looking edge upper right diagonal of the rose. Try making the selection more feathered, so it merges into BG gently, maybe?

I don't know how to feather, but I agree, it does look blunt. Guess I will read up on how to do feathering. Thanks.

Make your selection of the white area, or load it back up, then invert so rose is selected. Go to select/modify selection/feather, and set a HUGE feather radius, like 50 pixels or something. Then apply a hue/saturation adjustment layer to that selection and look what happens to the edge of your rose; that'll show you in graphic terms what it does.

Then use that knowledge to feather it as you want it done.
