I saw this over at Fredmiranda.com and really thought it was a great idea (However goofy it may look) Ill bet he gets good results in softning the light for his shots...

ROFL!!! I don't think I would have the guts to wear something like this, but it seems logical. hehehe.. Maybe just put the gear on a tripod.

If you have to move around a lot the umbrella on the head would be much more convenient. I with you though, it does look a little silly.

a little silly? I'll go way out on a limb to get a photo I want, but, ahhhh, I think this goes a bit over the line.

It seems to me that to some degree the shadow from the helmut must be cast onto the subject if the angle were not exactly correct in order to eliminate it.

i can see this for 'run and gun' shots, but for precision, and consistancy of light, i don't see it.

great for holloween.

I was going to say it reminded me of a book I have of Japanese inventions that seem like a good idea but look completely ridiculous, so nobody uses them.
