Hey everyone ... has anyone else had any problems with thei 7i? The camera still works with its automatic features - but the zoom lens has broken and i can not manuel focus anymore... instead of turning the zoom i have to manually pull it out to zoom .. thank goodness that still works .. but no more manual focusing and forget about true macros ...
another thing i ran into sunday (while shootin for triangle) was that i was outside and the camera kept shutting itself off - and eventually didnt turn back on... and i had full new batteries - and they were in correctly... it was HOT out .. is it possble that something overheated? cause i tried it this morning and it turned on fine - just a weird thing ...
has anyone dealt with Minolta repair before? I'm trying to weigh the option of just getting a new camera - of course i'm looking at the dimage a200 ... or getting this one fixed .. another draw back is that they said it would take 3-4 weeks turna round and they cant even give me an idea of what it would cost to fix . ... anyone have any ideas??

thanks!

I havn't had trouble with the focus yet. Other than the auto is to low for my tatste. But I have had alot of trouble with temperature. Below thirty or over 80 and it realy starts to act up. The shutter button wont trigger the shutter o like you said it just shuts down. Don't take it as me not bieng happy with the camera it's just a bit moody at times.
