Hello! I'm so excited. I just bought my first dSLR camera, a Rebel 300D. After lurking on this site for months, I've taken the plunge and joined in.

The following photo was taken in fully automatic mode. I haven't even begun to explore the possibilities in manual mode. Still just getting a feel for the camera. So far I LOVE IT! I took the photo too late to enter the "outside looking in" challenge, but that was certainly what inspired it. I'd love to have some input on the image and how it may have fared for my rookie/virgin entry! Thanks in advance!

Nice picture Stephane!
The thing I find funny is the name of the hockey stick manufacturer, Franklin? I know of Easton, Sher-wood, Victoriaville, Koho, Canadien. I thought a Franklin was a stove, lol.
Hope you have lots of fun with that rebel,I love mine!!

Well, the net is quite out of focus and there seems to be a large, distracting person in the background. Other than that, nice shot! ;-)

Congrats! Tis a great camera.

Who knows...I think everyone makes hockey sticks now. You'll find this amusing, though. My older son (the subject of this photo)is named after a hockey equipment manufacturer! His name is Cooper. My hubby is Canadian. We live, sleep, eat and breathe hockey at our house, which is somewhat out of the ordinary in Omaha, Nebraska.

Thanks for the input on the photo! I'll likely need a LOT of constructive criticism in the near future!
