Look at this photo. Warning to dialup people this photo is big. It is 835KB. It is not too bad though.

Camera setting were on auto. This was taken yesterday at the Indian Festival. Click the photo on the right to get the full size image. See the purple line around the feather at the top? Also see the red line outlining his face? What causes this?

I think this is your problem.chromatic aberration
If you are shooting raw there may be ways in the convertion to offset this problem, usually occurs mostly in high contrast areas.

Seems like these camera manufacturers could fix that though.

Question for anyone. Can I have Canon fix this problem in the camera if I send it to them? It is still under warranty.

It depends. CA will occur in certain situations and is not necessarily a flaw in manufacturing.
Check out the review at dpreview.
If it seems excessive (how do we know what's excessive?) then there may be something wrong with the camera.

Quick question Rex.
Were you using a converter or similar?
I get the CA when using my TCON-300 3X. |

No converter. Just the lense attached to the camera

Click the photo and select original and you can see the purple line in the feather next to the tent.
